PART OF THE “MARINA DRZICA” STREET IS PAVED
4.07.2014

One of the busiest streets in the territory of the City Municipality of Palilula, "Marina Držića" street, whose reconstruction began three months ago, got the first layer of asphalt and only in part to the “Francuska” street. On the section towards the Electronic industry, because of unresolved property issues, the works will be halted to its final solution. This is the reason that the president of municipality, Boban Džunić with his associates, members of the Municipal Council, Svetislav Petrović and Milan Andrejic, visited the site.

The road is 894 meters long, passes by the largest nurseries in Nis and Primary School "Branko Miljkovic". So far, the asphalt is one-third of the shares. At the beginning of the work, it was agreed before placing new asphalt, we need to do the restoration of water supply network, which is over 40 years old – said president Džunić. For this purpose, the funds are committed to the items for periodic maintenance in the amount of 39 million. I expected that the works will be completed within a month. Unfortunately, there is always  a problem. Now the Department of City Construction and competent management are on the move to urgently resolve property issues, in order to continue the construction. Here, there is also the frustration of citizens because the work is postponed. However, legal property issues must be resolved. It is important in order to perform quality-works.

In addition to the works on traffic infrastructure, modernization of water supply and sewerage networks, priorities of Palilula municipality until the end of this year, are the improvement of agriculture production, employment, youth, care for socially vulnerable groups, children and the elderly – said Boban Dzunic. It is expected that most of the funds for these purposes will be provided through projects from EU funds.
